Penn Machine Company offers total capability and a
single source for new technology transit wheelsets.
Working in close partnership with Bochumer Verein
Verkehrstechnik and ZF Bahntechnik enables us to
offer solutions to many problems. Wheelset designs include hollow, solid and subcritical quenched axles, the 70% low floor axle technology, aluminum-centered wheels, resilient wheels, noise-damped wheels and fully suspended drives. PMC is the first company to manufacture and supply low floor axle technology for use in North America. Products range from light to heavy rail designs for virtually every North American transit application. Internal heat-treating capabilities enable us to meet the requirements for subcritical quench processing of axles. Over our long history, PMC has participated in the development of every new wheelset technology, and we have been recognized as a proven supplier. Our mission is to serve as a total product supplier of wheelsets, gearboxes and brake disks while addressing technical, environmental and community issues. We will also apply the latest technology when servicing users’ existing equipment. European license agreements with Bochumer Verein Verkehrstechnik and ZF Bahntechnik provide PMC with a unique and total capability. As cities and towns turn to rail transit alternatives, PMC is committed to keeping pace with future developments. |
